Diplomatic efforts to arrange a trilateral meeting among U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have produced repeated proposals but no confirmed leader-level gathering. Recent U.S. outreach, including CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s Moscow discussions on reviving negotiations and floating a three-way summit, has been briefed to Ukrainian officials, yet Putin has historically rejected direct formats involving Zelenskyy. Separate bilateral calls and envoy-level trilateral talks in Geneva and Abu Dhabi earlier in 2026 yielded limited progress amid persistent disputes over territory and security guarantees. With four months remaining before 2027 and no scheduled event for the three principals, trader consensus reflects the procedural and political barriers that have kept such an in-person appearance from materializing.
