  • Will Wu Hsiu-hua win the next Taitung County Magistrate election?76¢76%
  • Will Chen Ying win the next Taitung County Magistrate election?21¢21%
  • Will Li Wu Ying-chih win the next Taitung County Magistrate election?4¢4%

The tight pricing around Wu Hsiu-hua (KMT), Li Wu Ying-chih (independent), and Chen Ying (DPP) in the Taitung County Magistrate race stems from an open seat with four registered candidates after the October 27 ballot draw, which produced numbers 1 through 4 for Li Wu Ying-chih, Chen Ying, Wang Chih-wei, and Wu Hsiu-hua. A late-October corruption probe involving Wu family members, including searches tied to Wu Hsiu-hua’s office, has introduced uncertainty for the KMT nominee, while Chen Ying’s indigenous background and legislative record position her to contest the sizable indigenous vote bloc. Earlier polling showed Wu ahead but with large undecided shares, and the multi-candidate field continues to fragment support. The November 28 vote date leaves limited time for further separation before resolution.
