  • Will the Republican Party win the SC-02 House seat?99¢99%
  • Will the Democratic Party win the SC-02 House seat?2¢2%

Joe Wilson's commanding position in South Carolina's 2nd district reflects the area's established Republican lean in federal contests, his long incumbency since 2001, and a substantial fundraising edge over challenger Zyon Khalifa. Primary results and preelection assessments rated the seat as safely Republican, consistent with prior margins exceeding 10 points. Although early returns after the November 3, 2026 general election showed a narrower lead of roughly 1 point with nearly all votes counted, traders view the district's voting patterns and institutional factors as likely to sustain Wilson's advantage through certification. Potential shifts could arise from remaining ballot processing, a mandatory recount threshold near 1 percent, or successful legal challenges, though historical precedent in similar districts favors the incumbent's retention.
