The 2026 Vancouver mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 17, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Vancouver as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Vancouver.
Incumbent Ken Sim leads trader pricing at 50.5 percent due to the fragmented candidate field and vote-splitting risks among challengers, despite underwater approval ratings and mixed polling that often shows him trailing or tied in raw support. Recent surveys from Research Co. and Pallas Data indicate Sim holds an edge among decided voters and homeowners, while Green Party councillor Pete Fry sits second at 32.6 percent on stronger favorability and name recognition as the primary opposition voice. Vancouver Liberals candidate Kareem Allam trails at 10.5 percent after launching as a centrist alternative, with efforts by progressive parties to consolidate behind a single challenger stalling ahead of the September nomination deadline. The October 17 municipal election features a large undecided bloc that could shift outcomes based on turnout patterns across demographic divides.
