Patty García’s commanding position in the Illinois 4th Congressional District race stems from the district’s strong Democratic lean, reflected in its D+17 partisan voter index and consistent Solid Democratic ratings from forecasters. As the former chief of staff to retiring Representative Jesús “Chuy” García, she secured the Democratic nomination unopposed after the primary filing process and has amassed over 175 endorsements along with substantial fundraising exceeding $350,000. Republican nominee Lupe Castillo and the independent and third-party candidates face structural disadvantages in this heavily Democratic area spanning Chicago’s Southwest Side and western suburbs. The November 3 general election remains two weeks away, leaving room for shifts driven by turnout patterns or late developments, though the current consensus pricing aligns with historical results and the limited competitive infrastructure on the other side.
