Esthela Damián Peralta leads trader pricing in the Guerrero gubernatorial race at 67% amid Morena’s internal selection process for its 2027 nominee, reflecting her recent edge in August polling that placed her ahead of Beatriz Mojica Morga at 25% to 20% overall and 39% to 31% in effective preferences. Damián’s federal role as legal counsel to President Sheinbaum until April 2026, combined with her registration among 16 aspirants in June and emphasis on territorial work plus a “Guerrero del Futuro” platform focused on security and economic issues, has bolstered her position within the dominant Morena-PT-PVEM coalition. Mojica, a sitting senator, holds the next-highest share at 28% on name recognition and legislative experience, while the long tail of other registered aspirants and minor-party contenders remains below 2% each. The contest hinges on Morena’s upcoming survey methodology and any late shifts in party preferences ahead of the June 2027 election.
