The 2026 Fernie, British Columbia mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 17, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Fernie, British Columbia as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Fernie, British Columbia.

The Fernie, BC mayoral race for the October 17, 2026 municipal election remains wide open ahead of the September 1–11 nomination window, with current councillors Harshan Ramadass and Kyle Hamilton the only declared contenders. Ramadass’s modest edge in trader pricing reflects his stronger 2022 councillor showing and early emphasis on infrastructure upgrades, permitting reform, and fiscal sustainability, while Hamilton’s positioning highlights his multi-term experience and advocacy for senior-government funding to address aging systems. The large field of unresolved “Person” and “Other” options at even odds captures uncertainty over additional entrants and the first-past-the-post format in a small electorate. Separation will likely emerge once nominations close, campaign-period polling or endorsements surface, and voters assess concrete platforms on wastewater, housing, and development timelines.
