Democratic incumbent Marilyn Strickland holds a commanding position in Washington’s 10th Congressional District heading into the November 3 general election. The D+9 Partisan Voter Index district delivered her a clear top-two primary victory on August 4 with 49 percent, advancing her against Republican Chris Chung. Multiple nonpartisan ratings classify the race as solid or safe Democratic. Incumbency, the district’s consistent Democratic voting patterns in recent cycles, and the absence of competitive Republican challengers anchor trader consensus around a strong hold. A Democratic victory would require no unusual late developments such as a major scandal or unexpected national political realignment to remain the near-certain outcome.
