Dolly Parton’s August 25, 2026, death has anchored trader sentiment for Google’s global Year in Search Passings list, generating sustained search volume across her music, film, and philanthropy footprint that outpaces most prior celebrity passings. Markets assign her near-certain inclusion in the top 5 while pricing in remaining uncertainty from any late-year events involving figures such as Ali Khamenei or other public leaders. Google’s ranking rewards sudden global spikes over steady baseline interest, so timing, media coverage, and demographic reach of future deaths through December 31 remain the key swing factors.

This market will resolve based on the specified list regardless of navigation procedure. This market may resolve as soon as the specified list for 2026 is released. If Google does not release the specified list by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No." The resolution source for this market will be the specified list as published by Google.
