Early tracking estimates position The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping for a domestic opening weekend in the mid-$50 million to low-$70 million range, aligning with the market's tightest clustering around 65m-75m. The November 20 release benefits from a solo wide weekend with no major competition, a returning director in Francis Lawrence, and stronger source material momentum than its 2023 predecessor, including 1.5 million first-week book sales. A higher $170–200 million budget and ensemble cast featuring Joseph Zada as young Haymitch, plus supporting stars like Glenn Close and Ralph Fiennes, support franchise continuity, while potential cameos from Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson add nostalgia appeal. Tickets going on sale October 28 will provide the next key read on presale strength ahead of reviews and IMAX availability.
