Recent polling showing the candidates essentially tied has kept trader odds narrow in Michigan’s 4th district race, with forecasters such as the Cook Political Report moving the contest to toss-up status. Democratic challenger Sean McCann’s record third-quarter fundraising of $1.8 million and heavy outside spending exceeding $13 million have narrowed the gap in an R+3 district that supported the Republican presidential nominee by roughly six points in the prior cycle. Incumbent Bill Huizenga faces elevated outside advertising and labor endorsements for his opponent, while both campaigns emphasize cost-of-living issues ahead of the November 3 general election. These dynamics sustain the competitive pricing until late-cycle shifts in turnout or additional polling emerge.
