The 2026 Markham, Ontario mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 26, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Markham, Ontario as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Markham, Ontario.

Frank Scarpitti, the long-serving incumbent mayor of Markham since 2006, holds a commanding position in the October 2026 municipal election due to his repeated strong electoral record, including victories with margins exceeding 60 percent in prior cycles. Nominations closed in late August with only two challengers, Stephen Edgell and Martin Ross, entering the three-way race for the city-wide mayoral post. Ross drew prior attention for a dispute over a backyard rink, while Scarpitti has continued public engagement on provincial fiscal measures and local events. With online voting scheduled from October 16 to 26, trader consensus reflects the structural advantages of incumbency and the narrow field, though late developments such as unexpected candidate withdrawals or shifts in local turnout could still influence the final outcome.
