Flávio Bolsonaro, the defeated Liberal Party presidential candidate, faces a Supreme Court travel ban and passport surrender order issued October 26 by Justice Alexandre de Moraes as part of a money-laundering and corruption investigation tied to online betting and a film project. Multiple sources report he left Brazil for the United States on October 27 despite the deadline, joining family members already abroad, including brother Eduardo, amid speculation of an asylum request. His father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, remains under house arrest. Brazilian authorities have canceled his passports and are monitoring borders, while the U.S. side has provided limited confirmation of his movements. Resolution of the market hinges on any confirmed return date, potential diplomatic or legal developments in the U.S.-Brazil relationship, and outcomes of the ongoing probes.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Flávio Bolsonaro returns to Brazil between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A "return" is defined as Flávio Bolsonaro physically entering the terrestrial territory of Brazil. Whether or not Bolsonaro enters Brazilian airspace or maritime territory during the timeframe of this market will have no bearing on a positive resolution. If it is confirmed that Flávio Bolsonaro was present in the terrestrial territory of Brazil at the time of market creation, this market will resolve to "Yes". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.
