Incumbent Republican María Elvira Salazar holds a clear edge in Florida’s 27th congressional district due to her established name recognition, strong cash reserves, and the area’s recent Republican tilt, including Donald Trump’s 15-point margin in 2024. Traders price her at 68.5% amid a Lean Republican rating from forecasters, reflecting her primary win and historical performance despite a heavily Latino electorate where immigration enforcement and cost-of-living concerns dominate. Recent internal polls showing a near tie or slight Salazar lead, combined with Democratic challenger Eliott Rodriguez’s stronger third-quarter fundraising and national party support, have narrowed the race and reduced her implied probability from earlier levels above 80%. Early voting begins October 24 ahead of the November 3 contest, with outcomes likely hinging on turnout among Hispanic voters and late campaign spending.
