  • Will the Democratic Party win the CT-01 House seat?97¢97%
  • Will the Republican Party win the CT-01 House seat?1¢1%

Luke Bronin holds a commanding lead in Connecticut's 1st Congressional District because the open seat favors the Democratic nominee in a district long rated solid or safe Democratic by forecasters. Bronin defeated longtime incumbent John Larson in the August primary and enters the November 3 general with substantial name recognition from his eight years as Hartford mayor, nearly $3.7 million raised, and endorsements that reinforce his position in the Hartford-centered area. Republican nominee Amy Chai, a physician running without prior elected experience in the district, trails sharply in fundraising at roughly $21,000 and faces structural challenges including her residence outside the district boundaries. A debate on October 22 and ongoing early voting through November 1 offer limited opportunities for shifts, while historical partisan margins and low Republican resources make significant movement unlikely absent major unforeseen developments such as a late scandal or national political realignment.
