Pablo Gutiérrez Lazarus leads trader consensus in the Campeche governor race after Morena’s national leadership designated him coordinator of the Defense of the Transformation on August 25, 2026, following an internal survey. The move, backed by incumbent governor Layda Sansores, formalizes his path as the party’s 2027 nominee in a state where Morena holds the governorship and strong municipal bases. Earlier 2026 surveys showed him topping Morena preferences and competitive in head-to-head matchups against opposition figures such as Eliseo Fernández Montúfar of Movimiento Ciudadano. Lower odds for remaining listed aspirants reflect the absence of comparable party consolidation or recent polling visibility ahead of the June 2027 election.
