A presidential election is scheduled to take place in Brazil on October 4, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate that wins this election. This market includes any potential second round. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Brazilian government, specifically the Superior Electoral Court (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, TSE) (e.g., https://dadosabertos.tse.jus.br/).
Lula da Silva maintains his position as the frontrunner in Brazil's October 2026 presidential election, with recent Datafolha, Quaest, and Nexus polls showing him leading first-round voting at 38–41% and holding a narrow or tied edge in runoff simulations against Flávio Bolsonaro at 43–47%. As the incumbent Workers' Party candidate seeking a fourth term, Lula benefits from established voter coalitions and policy continuity. Flávio Bolsonaro, the Liberal Party senator and son of the ineligible former president, has consolidated much of the right-wing vote through his father's endorsement, placing second at 30–37% in first-round surveys while trailing in most head-to-head matchups. Other contenders, including Ronaldo Caiado, Renan Santos, and Romeu Zema, remain in single digits amid a fragmented field, with formal campaigning underway and runoff dynamics expected if no candidate secures a first-round majority.
