This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Republican Party to contest the FL-19 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Republican primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Republican sources, including https://www.rnc.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.

Jim Schwartzel secured the Republican nomination for Florida's 19th Congressional District in the August 18, 2026, primary with roughly 29% of the vote in a ten-candidate field. As president of Sun Broadcasting and a local Southwest Florida figure, he built a decisive edge through early voting and substantial fundraising that outpaced rivals. Catalina Lauf, who received a late endorsement from President Trump, finished second at 22%, while former North Carolina representative Madison Cawthorn, former state representative Bob Rommel, and Spencer Roach each placed well behind. The primary outcome reflects Schwartzel's organizational strength in an open seat vacated by Byron Donalds; no remaining procedural or recount factors appear likely to alter the certified result ahead of the general election.
