Gubernatorial elections are currently scheduled to be held in Trenčín Region, Slovakia on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2026 Trenčín Region gubernatorial elections. Any interim or caretaker Governor will not qualify. If the results are not known definitively by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Trenčín Region and Slovakia, including the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (https://volby.statistics.sk/).
Jaroslav Baška maintains a commanding lead in the Trenčín Region governor race due to his long incumbency since 2013, repeated strong electoral results including 67 percent in 2022, and a broad pre-election coalition that unites governing parties Smer-SD, Hlas-SD, and SNS with the far-right Republika movement. This alliance supports both his candidacy and a joint slate for the regional council, while Baška conducts an intensive grassroots campaign visiting all 276 municipalities in the region. The main challenger, Natália Svítková of the Demokrati backed by a united opposition including PS, SaS, and KDH, has not closed the gap in available reporting. Traders assign low probability to an upset, though late developments such as shifts in turnout, coalition fractures, or unforeseen campaign events within the October 24 resolution window could still alter the outcome.
