A presidential election is scheduled to take place in Brazil on October 4, 2026. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate that wins this election. This market includes any potential second round. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Brazilian government, specifically the Superior Electoral Court (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, TSE) (e.g., https://dadosabertos.tse.jus.br/).
Lula holds a clear but narrowing lead in first-round polling around 39–41% against Flávio Bolsonaro’s 33–37%, with Ronaldo Caiado, Renan Santos, and Romeu Zema in single digits, while runoff simulations show a technical tie or narrow Lula edge of 46–47% to 43–45%. The official campaign opened August 16 with free airtime beginning later in the month, formalizing Lula’s Workers’ Party bid for a fourth term and Flávio’s Liberal Party candidacy carrying the Bolsonarista base after Jair Bolsonaro’s ineligibility and imprisonment. Recent Nexus and Datafolha surveys indicate Flávio closing the gap within margins of error amid right-wing consolidation and debates over economic policy and foreign relations. Traders price Lula as the favorite at 62.5% while assigning Flávio a substantial 35% chance, consistent with the polarized electorate and runoff dynamics in Brazil’s two-round system.
