Active diplomatic coordination has elevated China as the frontrunner for the next Trump-Putin meeting, with officials from all three capitals confirming ongoing preparations for a potential trilateral summit on the sidelines of the November 18-19 APEC gathering in Shenzhen. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and Chinese Foreign Ministry statements have highlighted active work to finalize the format, while President Trump has expressed openness to such talks, citing priorities like nuclear issues. Separate U.S.-mediated Ukraine-Russia discussions in Abu Dhabi and recent envoy meetings in Washington reinforce momentum for high-level engagement in Asia rather than bilateral venues in the U.S., Russia, or elsewhere. This consensus among traders aligns with the compressed timeline and host-nation advantages in China before year-end deadlines.
