Municipal elections are currently scheduled to be held in Czechia on October 9-10, 2026. The next mayor of Ostrava will be elected by the newly constituted council following the 2026 Czech municipal elections. This market will resolve to the first individual who officially assumes the role of Mayor of Ostrava following the 2026 Czech municipal elections. A qualifying individual must be elected mayor by the city council. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Czechia and Ostrava.

Richard Vereš leads the market at 60% as the ANO candidate and current mayor of Ostrava’s Slezská Ostrava district. ANO has maintained strong regional support in Moravskoslezský kraj and seeks to regain the city leadership lost in 2023 amid internal coalition shifts. Vereš’s profile includes district-level executive experience since 2018, a regional assembly seat, and roles in European local government bodies, positioning him as a high-visibility contender ahead of the October 9–10, 2026 municipal elections. Incumbent Jan Dohnal (srdcOVA/ODS-led coalition) trades at 37.5%, reflecting the rebranded center-right grouping’s defensive posture. Lower-priced options such as Ivana Lucáková Nesétová, Aleš Boháč, Lukáš Semerák, Rostislav Řeha, and Matěj Gregor represent smaller parties or new movements with narrower bases. The market reflects trader assessment of ANO’s historical vote share in Ostrava and the post-election council vote required to select the mayor.
