Sherrod Brown holds a strong 84.5% implied probability to win Mahoning County in the November 3 Ohio U.S. Senate special election, reflecting his historical performance in the Youngstown-area county's union-heavy, working-class electorate and advantages among women, suburban, and independent voters shown in recent statewide polling. Jon Husted trails at 15%, consistent with his narrower appeal in urban and union precincts despite Republican efforts including a mid-October campaign event in the county and substantial outside spending from aligned groups. The race remains competitive statewide with Brown holding slight leads or ties in late October surveys, but Mahoning's demographic profile and Brown's past margins there underpin trader positioning. Minor candidates and write-ins register at 50%, indicating limited expected impact on the county outcome. Early voting data and final-week turnout in Democratic-leaning areas could further influence results.
This market will resolve according to the party nominee or independent candidate that receives the most valid votes from Mahoning County in the special election for United States Senator from Ohio, which is scheduled to be held on November 3, 2026. The candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. The nominees of the Democratic and Republican parties are named in the contract for the convenience of traders. In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party.
