The Chicago White Sox (73-65) enter Wednesday’s game at Daikin Park riding momentum after a 5-1 win over the Houston Astros (70-69) on Tuesday, powered by Sean Burke’s 5⅔ shutout innings and multi-RBI efforts from Colson Montgomery and Randal Grichuk. Both clubs lead their divisions by slim margins, with the White Sox holding a three-game AL Central edge and the Astros clinging to a one-game AL West lead. Davis Martin returns from the injured list to oppose Hayden Wesneski, whose recent starts have been sharp. Multiple roster injuries, including season-ending surgery for Astros shortstop Carlos Correa, and Houston’s 7-10 skid in its past 17 home contests shape the matchup. The series stands 3-2 in Houston’s favor after five meetings.
