Niklas Guttau enters the M25 Poznan quarterfinal on clay with stronger recent form and experience, posting a solid 2026 clay record near 19-10 while claiming the M15 Bastad title after multiple three-set victories. The 26-year-old German left-hander defeated Michael Savano in their only prior meeting, a July 2026 M15 Lodz clay encounter that ended 7-6(5), 6-1. Savano, an 18-year-old American, shows promise with an 11-4 YTD mark dominated by clay but remains early in his professional transition with fewer matches at this level. Both players advanced comfortably through the draw, and the surface favors baseline consistency where Guttau’s greater match volume and head-to-head edge provide the clearest distinction.
