Vilius Gaubas, the higher-ranked Lithuanian at ATP No. 120 and 14th seed in US Open qualifying, faces Britain's Harry Wendelken (No. 196) in the final qualifying round on hard courts. Gaubas advanced with straight-set wins over Kilian Feldbausch and Marco Cecchinato, building on his career-high ranking of No. 101 earlier in 2026 and recent Grand Slam qualifying experience at Wimbledon. Wendelken reached this stage by saving match points in a three-hour comeback against Rémy Bertola after dropping the first set, following an opening-round victory. With no prior head-to-head and both players seeking main-draw entry, Gaubas's superior ranking and fresher form in the draw provide the key edge on the outdoor hard surface.
