Florida's 12th congressional district remains a solidly Republican seat ahead of the November 2026 general election, with incumbent Gus Bilirakis facing Democrat Kimberly Overman after her August 18 primary victory. The district's partisan voting index of R+7 and estimated 2024 presidential margin of roughly 14 points for the Republican nominee underpin the strong trader consensus for a GOP hold. Bilirakis, first elected in 2006 and representing the Tampa Bay area since redistricting, secured 71% in his most recent general election with minimal primary opposition. Forecasters including the Cook Political Report classify the race as Solid Republican, consistent with the district's voter composition and absence of major recent shifts in polling or campaign dynamics that would alter the outcome.
