Juan Pablo Varillas enters this Como Challenger second-round clay-court matchup as the clear favorite based on his ATP ranking near 234, superior career record, and 1-0 head-to-head edge after a straight-sets win over Arnaboldi in the 2023 Sanremo Challenger. The Peruvian warmed up with a solid first-round victory over higher-ranked Jan Kumstat and brings greater experience on red clay along with stronger recent serve and return metrics. Local Italian Federico Arnaboldi, ranked 521 and competing on familiar home courts, faces a steep challenge despite any motivational boost from the venue, with limited recent results at this level limiting his implied probability. The match is set for center court with no major injury concerns reported for either player.
