The 2026 Saanich, British Columbia mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 17, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Saanich, British Columbia as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Saanich, British Columbia.

The open Saanich mayoral contest remains closely contested among frontrunners Rishi Sharma, Karen Harper, and Zac de Vries because the seat vacated by incumbent Dean Murdock has drawn three established local figures with overlapping records on housing, infrastructure, and fiscal priorities. Sharma’s Save Our Saanich slate emphasizes spending restraint and controlled growth following earlier community opposition to major projects, while Harper and de Vries, both sitting councillors, highlight their municipal and regional experience. Nominations close only in mid-September and the October 17 election also includes a non-binding amalgamation referendum with Victoria, adding uncertainty that keeps implied probabilities tight. Fresh candidate forums, endorsements, or polling shifts ahead of the vote could widen gaps in trader assessments of the frontrunners.
