Janice Tjen, the seventh seed and world No. 35, holds a clear edge over wild-card entrant Dayana Yastremska in this WTA Monterrey Open round-of-32 hard-court matchup. Tjen leads their head-to-head 1-0 after a straight-sets victory on hard courts in Dubai earlier in 2026, and she has compiled a stronger recent record on the surface despite some inconsistency. Yastremska, ranked No. 112 and a former top-20 player, has struggled against higher-ranked opponents this season while showing flashes of form in opening rounds. Tjen’s seeding, ranking advantage, and hard-court preference shape trader consensus favoring her, though Yastremska’s experience keeps the outcome from being entirely one-sided.
