Washington Nationals host the Colorado Rockies to open a four-game series at Nationals Park, where Cade Cavalli (11-5, 3.22 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) takes the mound against Ryan Feltner (5-7, 5.97 ERA). Both clubs enter on poor recent form—the Rockies dropped their last six home games and sit at 50-80 overall, while the Nationals (61-71) were swept by the Marlins and went 2-8 in their prior 10 contests. Cavalli’s recent dominance, including multiple scoreless outings with high strikeout totals, stands out against Feltner’s higher ERA and the Rockies’ league-worst 5.54 team ERA. Key injury notes include Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams (ankle, day-to-day) and outfielder James Wood (oblique IL), plus several Rockies pitchers sidelined. The Nationals hold a stronger overall record and home pitching edge heading into the matchup.
