Maja Chwalinska enters this WTA Monterrey Open round-of-16 matchup as the No. 3 seed and world No. 21 after a breakout 2026 season that included a French Open final run and rapid ranking climb. The Polish left-hander holds a bye into the second round and enjoys greater rest ahead of the hard-court contest. Alycia Parks, the American wildcard ranked No. 89, advanced in three sets against Petra Marcinko but carries a 23-25 record for the year and has split results on hard courts. The pair has no prior head-to-head, though Chwalinska’s higher ranking, recent consistency, and serve-return balance have shaped trader consensus around her favored position in this first-time meeting.
