Karolina Muchova enters as the clear favorite against Katie Boulter in this US Open second-round matchup on hard courts, backed by her No. 7 ranking, 36-9 record in 2026, and recent run to the Wimbledon final. Muchova has won 19 of 23 hard-court matches this season, dispatched Sinja Kraus 6-3 6-0 in the first round, and defeated Boulter 6-3 7-5 on the same surface at the Miami Open earlier this year. Boulter, ranked No. 62 with a 21-17 mark, advanced past Carol Young Suh Lee in three sets but has shown inconsistency on hard courts outside her Ostrava title. Muchova’s experience in high-stakes matches and superior baseline consistency shape trader expectations for the outcome.
