Ann Li holds a narrow edge over Donna Vekic in the US Open second round on outdoor hard courts, with traders assigning her roughly 55-60% implied probability. Li, ranked No. 28, defeated Antonia Ruzic in straight sets in the first round and carries a 1-0 head-to-head record from their lone prior hard-court meeting. Both players enter with subpar hard-court records this season (Li near .500, Vekic below), though Li’s recent semifinal run in Monterrey and higher ranking provide a modest edge. Vekic snapped a five-match losing streak by beating Talia Gibson in three sets but remains inconsistent. The matchup favors the American’s serve-return balance on home soil, with limited recent momentum shifts altering the consensus.
