LCK and LPL squads dominate the 2026 League of Legends World Championship field, with four Korean teams (Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, Dplus KIA) and four Chinese sides (Anyone’s Legend, Bilibili Gaming, TOP Esports, Invictus Gaming) widely viewed as the only realistic title contenders. Gen.G enters as the consensus leader after strong domestic results and superior macro execution, while T1’s recent multi-year pedigree and HLE’s consistent international showings reinforce the region’s depth. Western representatives—primarily G2 Esports from the LEC plus Team Liquid and LYON from the LCS—have posted occasional series wins against Eastern opponents but lack the sustained form, roster stability, or bracket path to advance past the Swiss or knockout stages against the top seeds. Current power rankings and outright winner markets reflect this gap, pricing any Western champion below 7% implied probability.

Rules

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the team winning 1st place at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2026), currently scheduled for October 15 to November 14, 2026, is a Western team. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A Western team is a team that qualified for the tournament through the LEC (Europe / EMEA), the LCS (North America), or the CBLOL (Brazil). Teams that qualified through the LCK (South Korea), the LPL (China), or the LCP (Asia-Pacific) are not Western teams. If the winner of Worlds 2026 is not determined by November 28, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or the tournament is canceled or postponed past that date, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the tournament organizer, Riot Games, via the LoL Esports website (https://lolesports.com). However, a consensus of credible reporting (e.g., Liquipedia at https://liquipedia.net/leagueoflegends/World_Championship/2026) may also be used.
