Both Brazilian heavyweights return to Dana White’s Contender Series seeking UFC contracts on the Aug. 25 card at the Apex. Guilherme Uriel (7-2) enters as a slight favorite after rebounding from his 2025 DWCS knockout loss with a first-round TKO at LFA 229, leveraging a four-inch height and reach edge plus strong finishing rate. Mario Piazzon (12-1) brings momentum from recent TKO wins and training ties to Jailton Almeida but carries the scar of an upset stoppage against lesser competition and prior DWCS criticism over a disqualification victory. Height/reach disparity, grappling threats, and pre-fight tension at weigh-ins shaped trader consensus around Uriel’s edge in a high-finish-rate matchup.
