This market will resolve to "San Diego Padres" if the San Diego Padres win the game. If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official final statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. The San Diego Padres (71-60, second in NL West) host the Pittsburgh Pirates (63-69, fourth in NL Central) at Petco Park to open a three-game series, with the Padres holding a modest implied edge in trader consensus due to superior overall record, 40-26 home mark, and stronger recent form. Robbie Ray (11-7, 3.20 ERA) takes the mound for San Diego against Braxton Ashcraft (13-5, 3.68 ERA) for Pittsburgh, a matchup favoring the home side's rotation depth despite multiple Padre starters on the IL. Fernando Tatis Jr. and the offense provide additional upside in a ballpark that has supported San Diego's NL wild-card positioning, while the Pirates continue a late-season push amid their own injury absences and limited playoff implications.
