Martin Kozák enters the Dana White’s Contender Series middleweight bout as a heavy favorite, carrying a perfect 6-0 record with all wins by finish, including four TKOs and two submissions. The 24-year-old Slovakian southpaw from Mattix MMA brings significant size and reach advantages at 6'4" against the shorter 5'10" Echols. Christian Echols stepped in on short notice after the original opponent withdrew due to visa issues and missed the 185-pound limit by three pounds at weigh-ins, forcing a catchweight contest at 189 pounds with a purse fine. The Alabama-based submission specialist holds an 8-4 record but has suffered four stoppage losses, including a recent second-round TKO. Trader consensus reflects Kozák’s superior finishing rate, youth, and regional dominance in European promotions versus Echols’ mixed results against stiffer competition.
