Arthur Gea, the 21-year-old Frenchman ranked around No. 87, enters this US Open fourth-round matchup with strong recent momentum after capturing his first ATP title in Los Cabos and advancing as a lucky loser to the round of 16 for the first time in a Grand Slam. He has won three main-draw matches, including a five-set comeback against Michael Zheng. Botic van de Zandschulp, the 30-year-old Dutchman at No. 70 with a career-high ranking of No. 22, brings greater experience including a 2021 US Open quarterfinal run and recent hard-court wins over Alex de Minaur and Zizou Bergs in a grueling five-setter. Both players have demonstrated solid hard-court form, though van de Zandschulp’s longer recovery window and Gea’s physical edge in extended matches shape the competitive dynamics on the fast New York courts.
