Hikaru Sato enters the W35 Sydney final as the higher-ranked player at WTA No. 438 with greater experience on the ITF circuit, including a career-high near No. 335. She has navigated the draw steadily, securing straight-set semifinal and quarterfinal victories on outdoor hard courts while showing reliable baseline consistency. I Wen Wan, ranked No. 828 and competing as a qualifier, has compiled an impressive five-match winning streak to reach her first final, highlighted by straight-set semifinal and quarterfinal wins over higher-seeded opponents. Both players arrive with strong recent hard-court form and comparable win rates in the event, though Sato’s ranking edge and prior ITF title experience underpin the market’s implied probability favoring her over the younger contender’s momentum.
