No. 11 Tennessee visits South Carolina on October 24 at Williams-Brice Stadium in a key SEC matchup, with the Gamecocks installed as slight home favorites. The Vols arrive after a physically demanding 26-10 win over Alabama that extended their SEC win streak to three, while South Carolina enters rested following its bye and a 38-19 road victory over Florida. The ground game will decide much of the outcome, as Tennessee’s DeSean Bishop-led rushing attack faces a Gamecocks defense that ranks among the SEC’s best against the run, while South Carolina’s top-ranked rushing offense tests Tennessee’s league-leading defense in sacks and tackles for loss. Historical trends show Tennessee has struggled on the road in Columbia in recent years, and the Gamecocks’ rest advantage plus home crowd could create a competitive environment despite the Vols’ superior overall record and defensive dominance.
