Hugo Cardinaud (France, 22) enters this M15 Monastir 28 first-round match on hard courts with a weak recent record, posting multiple early exits in Tunisia events and a 2026 hard-court mark near 1-3 or 0-3. The right-hander has struggled to convert opportunities against more consistent opponents. Ilya Polonskiy (Russia, 30, ~2241) holds a stronger overall career ledger (71-58) and better recent form (6 wins in his last 10 matches), bringing left-handed variety and greater experience at the ITF level. No prior head-to-head exists. Trader consensus reflects Polonskiy’s edge in form and reliability on the surface, tempered by the low-tier nature of M15 events where upsets remain common.
