Digger, the upcoming satirical black comedy from director Alejandro G. Iñárritu and starring Tom Cruise, opens in wide release on October 2, 2026, with the Polymarket resolving shortly after based on the initial Tomatometer. Trader sentiment favoring a 60+ score at roughly 87% implied probability reflects the high-profile pairing of an Oscar-winning filmmaker and bankable star, plus strong pre-release signals from CinemaCon footage and the July trailer that positioned the project as a darkly comedic tentpole from Warner Bros. and Legendary. As a fall release in the awards corridor, critical reception will hinge on how the film balances its catastrophic premise with satirical bite, a genre that has produced both critical darlings and divisive results historically. No reviews are live yet, leaving the market driven by anticipation around Iñárritu’s stylistic approach and Cruise’s recent track record rather than verified critic consensus. Fresh reviews and early audience scores in early October represent the key near-term catalysts that could shift odds.
