Botic van de Zandschulp, the higher-ranked player at No. 41, enters the round-of-32 matchup on indoor hard courts at the 2026 European Open in Brussels as the consensus favorite over No. 70 Kamil Majchrzak. Van de Zandschulp arrives with strong recent hard-court momentum, including straight-sets wins over Alex Michelsen and Arthur Fils at the Shanghai Masters. Majchrzak, whose career-high ranking came earlier in 2026 after a maiden title, has posted mixed results on the surface, with a first-round exit in Shanghai. Van de Zandschulp holds the lone prior head-to-head win on hard courts from 2021. Both players are coming off the Asian swing with no reported injuries, though the Dutchman’s superior ranking, recent form, and slight edge in serve and return metrics on the surface shape the current market positioning.
