Ivan Gakhov enters the Lisbon Challenger qualifying match against João Domingues with a narrow edge driven by his 1-0 head-to-head lead on clay, including a three-set win in their 2024 encounter, combined with a higher current ranking (around No. 434 vs. Domingues at No. 584). The red-clay surface at Estádio Cif favors Gakhov's left-handed game and reach advantage (191 cm vs. 178 cm), while his recent mixed results in European Challengers show competitive form in similar conditions. Domingues, the Portuguese veteran, benefits from home support and solid recent activity on home soil, though reports note three consecutive losses entering the match. Both players compete in best-of-three sets with no reported injuries or late changes affecting the draw; Gakhov's experience in deciding sets on clay contributes to trader consensus favoring him as the slight favorite in this early qualifying round.
