Marko Topo enters the first-round Plovdiv 3 Challenger clay-court matchup as the clear favorite over Valerio Aboian, reflecting trader consensus on his higher ranking (around 339–341 versus 428–431), superior 2026 win rate in comparable events, and head-to-head edge. Topo defeated Aboian 6-3, 7-6(4) on clay in Bonn Challenger qualifying on July 27, 2026, and has shown stronger results in recent Challenger appearances despite a mixed overall record. Aboian, a left-hander, posted solid ITF M25 results in late August but has struggled to advance consistently at the Challenger level. Both players compete primarily on clay with no reported injuries or scheduling issues affecting availability; the outdoor conditions in Plovdiv favor baseline consistency and return play where Topo holds a slight statistical edge from prior encounters.
