Gonzalo Bueno enters the Cali Challenger second round as the clear market favorite against qualifier Santiago Rodriguez Taverna on red clay, reflecting his superior ranking near 199 and stronger recent clay results. Bueno converted break opportunities efficiently in his straight-sets opener and holds a stylistic edge on the surface where he posts higher win rates. Rodriguez Taverna, ranked around 443, advanced through qualifying and survived a grueling three-set, three-hour-plus first-round match that ended in tiebreaks, raising fatigue concerns ahead of this matchup. Their lone prior meeting dates to 2020, offering limited insight into current form. Weather delays have already interrupted play, leaving the outcome dependent on recovery and second-set execution from the higher-ranked Peruvian.
