Dusan Lajovic holds the edge in this US Open qualifying second-round matchup on outdoor hard courts, reflecting his stronger recent hard-court results and veteran experience against the lower-ranked David Jorda Sanchis. Lajovic, ranked around 167 and a former top-25 player, enters with a 10-6 hard-court mark this season and more consistent form in recent weeks, including a first-round win over Soonwoo Kwon. Jorda Sanchis, at approximately No. 192 after back-to-back clay Challenger titles earlier in 2026, snapped a six-match losing streak with a three-set victory over Henri Squire but remains 5-9 on hard this year. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving surface adaptation, second-serve reliability, and late-match resilience as key variables in the best-of-three encounter.
