Alexander Bublik enters as the clear favorite against Adrian Mannarino in their US Open second-round match on outdoor hard courts. The 15th-seeded Kazakh has posted a stronger 2026 record (around 26-17) and sits at world No. 16, compared with the 38-year-old Frenchman’s No. 67 ranking and sub-.400 win rate this season. Bublik dispatched J.J. Wolf in four sets in the first round after limited warm-up play following his Kitzbühel final, relying on big serving and aggressive shot-making. Mannarino fought back from two sets down to upset Thiago Agustin Tirante in five sets but has struggled for consistency. Their head-to-head is tied 1-1 on hard, though Bublik’s power and recent results give him the edge in the matchup. Surface, rest, and motivation levels remain key variables on Court 7.
