Jerome Kym holds a clear edge over fellow Swiss Remy Bertola in their Manacor Challenger first-round matchup on hard courts. At 23 and ranked No. 178 (career high 123), Kym brings greater physical tools with his 6'6" frame, stronger recent results on the surface, and deeper Grand Slam qualifying experience, including a 2025 US Open main-draw run. Bertola, 28 and at a career-high No. 174, has shown solid clay and grass form earlier in 2026 but enters with a recent hard-court slump, including a US Open qualifying loss. Serve-hold and return metrics from recent months slightly favor Kym’s consistency, while both players lack extensive head-to-head history. Late schedule adjustments, fatigue from transatlantic travel, or surface-specific adaptation could still influence the outcome in this closely ranked encounter.
